These little metal markers formed the bicycle lane boundaries - and were universally ignored by tourists and locals alike.

While taking this shot lots of tourists (judgement call, but they were too badly dressed to have been locals) walked around me, onto the pedestrian footpath, and then back onto the cycle path, and despite being dinged by several cyclists they doggedly maintained their blissful obliviousness off into the distance.

Anyway, I thought they were a cute idea, but needed more signs, and perhaps a community police officer stationed every hundred metres or so, armed with a short stick with which to go poke dumb pedestrians.
